About The Position

The Associate Vice President, Strategic Growth & Market Opportunity leads Vizient’s capability for identifying, assessing, and informing the prioritization of growth opportunities within the Strategic Market Research & Industry Insights function in the Office of Strategy Management. The role covers proactively identified opportunities as well as those generated by business units, including organic, inorganic, adjacent, cross-business-unit, and other growth opportunities. The AVP is the primary accountable lead for integrated assessments, establishing a repeatable, AI-enabled process that brings together evidence from Market & Client Research, Strategic Competitive Intelligence, the Vizient Growth Outlook, and relevant business-unit context. The role turns this evidence into comparable, decision-ready assessments and recommendations about which opportunities to advance, defer, or stop. The AVP collaborates across the business with Corporate and business-unit Strategy, Corporate Development, R&D, Product, and relevant business-unit partners to support formal strategy development, business cases, diligence, partnerships, and execution. The position is based at corporate headquarters in Irving, Texas, or facilities in Chicago, Illinois, or Centennial, Colorado; remote work within the United States will also be considered.

  • Quantitative and financial fluency in market sizing, forecasting, TAM/SAM/SOM, and internal business and commercial data; ability to interpret outputs, challenge assumptions, and assess opportunity scale, growth potential, and investment implications without owning the underlying model architecture.
  • Ability to turn ambiguous enterprise or business-unit requests into defined opportunity hypotheses, assessment scopes, decision criteria, workplans, and actionable recommendations, while recognizing organizational connectivity, overlaps, dependencies, and synergies.
  • Ability to synthesize market and client research, competitive intelligence, quantitative analyses, and internal performance and commercial data into comparable opportunities, strategic options, trade-offs, and prioritization recommendations.
  • Effectiveness leading cross-functional work with Marketing Insights, R&D, Product, business-unit leaders, Corporate/BU Strategy, and Corporate Development.
  • Ability to operate as a hands-on, AI-enabled leader who designs and delivers assessments, builds repeatable workflows and decision standards, facilitates executive decisions, and communicates complex analyses clearly in writing, presentations, and discussions.
