About The Position

The Associate Teacher works as part of a classroom team and across the center to promote children’s social, physical, and intellectual growth. The role provides developmentally appropriate care, observes and documents children’s learning and development, and communicates with parents and center team members. The position supports children’s developmental and social-emotional needs in a safe, organized environment and follows Concord Hospital and Learning Center policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must obtain certification in Infant and Child CPR, including AED training, and Basic First Aid within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• A minimum of 9 credits in Early Childhood Education, including 3 credits from a Child Growth and Development class, from a regionally accredited college.
• One year of experience working with young children in a group setting.

Responsibilities

• Support the classroom team and all co-workers in the Center.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with each child and family.
• Engage with children to meet their developmental and social-emotional needs.
• Model and teach children self-regulation skills.
• Implement a child-centered curriculum in a safe, organized environment.
• Support and follow Concord Hospital and Learning Center policies and procedures.
• Commit to continual learning and professional development, and suggest improvements based on best practice.
• Observe and document children's learning and development.
• Communicate with parents and center team members.
