Xylem is hiring a Sales Representative who will support commercial growth within the Water Solutions and Services Heavy Industry segment. This Sales Representative role is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to grow the company’s mobile and portable deionization services business to the power, refining, chemical, paper, and steel industries. This role identifies and pursues new sales opportunities, builds and maintains strong relationships with our existing client base, and presents products and services to potential customers. The position also involves conducting market research to understand customer needs, industry trends, competitive activity, preparing sales reports, supporting forecasting, and meeting sales targets. The Sales Representative must have excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and urgently in a fast-paced environment. Typical daily activities for this position includes prospecting, managing customer requests, providing quotes, updating CRM, generating reports, managing contracts, and order entry. The territory for this position includes all states in the Midwest, Great Lakes, and Northeast. The candidate for this position should reside somewhere within this territory and be able to travel up to 25% of the time to support field sales and customer relationships. This role is an exciting opportunity for an early career sales professional who is interested in building capability in consultative selling, territory management, and industrial customer engagement. Success in the role requires strong communication skills, sound business judgment, effective organization, and the ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal partners.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in degree in business, economics, finance, or a related field with at least 2 years experience or equivalent work experience that provides exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts.
  • Proven experience in business development or a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in CRM and business management software, such as Salesforce and ProWorkflow.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • A track record of identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities.

  • Knowledge of Demineralization Sales, wastewater or any other related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential and existing customers
