Associate Project Manager

NoBS•Boston, MA

About The Position

NoBS Tech is a consulting company focused exclusively on Datadog. The Associate Project Manager will own smaller customer engagements from start to finish and support larger enterprise implementations. The position manages customer projects whose execution shapes customers’ experience of NoBS Tech, adapting delivery to clients’ differing needs, structures, and personalities. During the first month, the Associate Project Manager supports scheduling, agendas, and recaps on larger implementations and shadows kickoffs and status calls. In the second month, they build schedules and draft status reports for manager review and co-lead a kickoff. By the third month, they take on small projects end to end and work toward managing a portfolio of up to five. The role covers Reality Checks, time-and-materials engagements, and monthly support. Project work spans pre-kickoff through kickoff, status calls and progress reports, wrap-up, and next steps. The Associate Project Manager coordinates access prerequisites, engineers’ and customers’ calendars across time zones, weekly status reports and risk tracking, and scope in partnership with their manager. They keep Datadog representatives informed when needed. Delivery is primarily traditional, with some Agile practices and no sprints. Projects generally begin with linear phases such as discovery, tagging, and agent deployment, then move into parallel implementation workstreams before knowledge transfer and closeout. Deliverables are provided incrementally. Fixed-fee scopes remain firm, while other work can adapt to customer feedback. The company says the position offers direct work with an experienced project manager, early ownership of projects and customers, and a path to grow, in an environment described as having no bureaucracy or big egos.
