About The Position

Northeastern University's College of Science is seeking an Associate or Full Professor in the Department of Psychology to serve as the Director of the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC) within the Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health. This role requires an internationally recognized and well-funded research program, with expertise in human MRI/fMRI research in fields such as psychological science, neuroscience, or biomedical engineering. The Director will lead the NUBIC, manage its imaging functions, and provide scientific training to users. The position includes an office and research space within the Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health, and support staff including a technical director and MRI technician. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Department of Psychology and potentially other departments based on their research program. The Department of Psychology is expanding and is known for its research in psychological, cognitive, and brain health, as well as developmental and aging neuroscience, and brain-body interactions. Requirements

Ph.D. in neuroscience, psychology, physics, biomedical engineering, or a related field, or an M.D.
A record of research commensurate with rank (Associate or Full Professor)
Experience in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working in a global work and educational environment
Strong record of scholarly accomplishment that demonstrates the ability to build a strong research program
Substantial research productivity and an established history of grant support and academic service (for Associate/Full Professor ranks)
Experience and qualifications that reflect a demonstrated record of teaching excellence and scholarly accomplishment (for Associate/Full Professor ranks)
A minimum of six years of relevant experience for appointment as Associate Professor
A minimum of twelve years of relevant experience for appointment as Full Professor
Excellence in, or a demonstrated commitment to, working with global student populations and/or in a global work and educational environment

Responsibilities

Serving as Director of the Northeastern University Biomedical Imaging Center (NUBIC)
Serving as a senior faculty member in the Institute for Cognitive and Brain Health (CBH)
Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses
Conducting an independent, externally funded research program
Contributing to the academic mission of his/her department(s)
Developing independent research programs that attract external funding
Teaching courses at the graduate and undergraduate level
Supervising students and postdocs in their area of research
Participating in service to the department, university, and discipline
Building a user-base of scientists engaged in functional, diffusion, spectroscopy, and structural MRI research
Coordinating and managing all aspects of the MRI imaging functions
Providing scientific training to MRI users regarding data acquisition, processing and analysis
