About The Position

Emory University's Division of General Internal Medicine is seeking a full-time faculty member at the rank of Associate Professor or Professor, Research Track. This role is based in Atlanta and offers a collaborative academic environment with connections across the university and community. The division has a strong research portfolio in various health sciences, with a priority on health services research. The successful candidate will lead an independent research program, focusing on improving health outcomes through equitable and evidence-based care. Requirements

  • MD, PhD, DrPH, or other appropriate doctoral degree in public health, health education, social and behavioral sciences, health sciences, or a related field from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated record of scientific publications and research dissemination
  • Evidence of success in obtaining external research funding
  • Commitment to mentorship, collaboration, and service in an inclusive academic setting

Responsibilities

  • Develop, lead, and disseminate a rigorous program of research aligned with the Division’s current areas of interest.
  • Continue to seek and secure external research funding as Principal Investigator or Co-Investigator from agencies such as the NIH, AHRQ, PCORI, CDC, NSF, and other public or private funders.
  • Mentor and supervise students, fellows, trainees, and junior faculty in research activities and career development programs (e.g., K awards).
  • Contribute to the growth of research infrastructure within the Division and serve on internal committees shaping research strategy.
  • Collaborate with other research programs in the Division.
  • Develop strategic interdisciplinary partnerships across the School of Medicine, School of Public Health, and affiliated healthcare systems to advance research, education, and clinical innovation.
  • Engage in service activities within the Division, Department, Institution, and broader scientific community.
  • Continue to publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present research at local, regional, and national scientific meetings.
