About The Position

The Psychology Department at Palo Alto University (PAU) is seeking two tenure-track faculty members at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, starting Fall 2027. The department's mission aligns with PAU's vision of improving well-being and contributing to just and inclusive communities through the understanding of human behavior. The department offers APA-accredited doctoral programs in Clinical Psychology and a joint PsyD program with Stanford University, as well as a master's program in Psychology. Faculty are expected to contribute to classroom instruction, clinical practice, and research, preparing students to address emerging issues in mental health. The department has seven areas of emphasis: LGBTQ+, Pediatric Behavioral Health, Diversity and Community Mental Health (DCMH), Forensic, Neuropsychology, and Trauma. PAU operates an in-house community clinic, The Clinics @ PAU, and places advanced students in various clinical training sites. The university seeks faculty who will help build on existing areas of emphasis, faculty expertise, and research mentorship offerings, with a focus on culturally responsive mental health and mental health technology.

Requirements

  • An earned doctorate in Psychology or other closely related discipline, from an accredited institution (or foreign equivalent) is required; however, applicants nearing completion of the doctorate may be considered. For an appointment, the doctorate must be completed by the date of appointment.
