Associate Professor of Psychology - Indigenous
About The Position
This role is for an Associate Professor of Psychology with a focus on Indigenous well-being. Reporting to the Head of School, the successful candidate will lead research and teaching for the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People’s social and emotional well-being. This includes providing academic leadership for the Murrup Bung-allambee Indigenous Psychology Group, guiding its research agenda, mentoring Indigenous students and staff, and advancing culturally responsive and decolonial approaches to psychology teaching and practice. The appointee will have a doctoral qualification and/or recognized significant experience in the relevant discipline area. Requirements
- Doctoral qualification and/or recognized significant experience in the relevant discipline area.
- Must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
Responsibilities
- Lead research and teaching for the advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People’s social and emotional well-being.
- Provide academic leadership of the Murrup Bung-allambee Indigenous Psychology Group.
- Guide the research agenda of the Indigenous Psychology Group.
- Mentor Indigenous students and staff engaged with the group.
- Continue the work advancing culturally responsive and decolonial approaches to psychology teaching and practice.
