About The Position

The Granite YMCA is seeking Associate Teachers to join its Early Learning team. The Associate Teacher supports high-quality early childhood programs, assists with curriculum implementation, and helps create a safe, engaging environment for young children. Working closely with Lead Teachers, this role contributes to daily classroom operations, mentors Assistant Teachers, and helps ensure a cohesive, developmentally appropriate program. The position is suited to someone passionate about early childhood education and ready to take on classroom leadership responsibilities.

Requirements

Meet State of New Hampshire licensing requirements for an Associate Teacher.
Hold CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or be willing to obtain them.
Have strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Bring a positive, patient, and nurturing approach to early childhood education.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Support the classroom in alignment with YMCA standards and New Hampshire state licensing requirements.
Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
Build positive relationships with children and families while maintaining confidentiality.
Lead classroom activities, including curriculum implementation, snacks and meals, and setup and cleanup.
Guide and mentor Assistant Teachers to support a cohesive classroom experience.
Monitor attendance, headcounts, and behavior, and act as classroom lead when the Lead Teacher is absent.
Model and promote YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies according to YMCA procedures.
Collaborate with Lead Teachers and the Program Director on classroom operations and program quality.
Contribute to a positive, flexible, team-oriented culture.
