About The Position

The Early Preschool Teacher at Primrose School of Keller plans and implements an ongoing program of activities that supports each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® approach. The teacher provides overall supervision of a group of children and manages daily classroom functions. The school is an accredited private preschool offering year-round programs for children from infancy through elementary-aged school age.

Requirements

Meet the basic requirements of the local child care regulatory agency.
Be able to lift up to 35 pounds in connection with handling children, facilitating programs, ensuring child safety, and responding to potential emergencies.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in a teaching or assistant teaching position in a licensed early childhood program.
Knowledge of the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.

Responsibilities

Provide overall supervision of a group of children and manage daily classroom functions.
Follow Primrose School of Keller rules and applicable local, state, and national regulations concerning children’s health, safety, and care.
Implement approved lesson plans and the daily classroom schedule in accordance with the Primrose Balanced Learning® curriculum and programming.
Maintain an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
Offer children verbal recognition and acceptance while setting clear, consistent behavioral expectations.
Perform classroom, common-area, and playground maintenance and housekeeping duties.
Maintain a professional personal appearance according to the Primrose School of Keller Employee Handbook.
Assist in other duties as determined necessary by the Director or designee.
