About The Position

The Granite YMCA is seeking Associate Teachers to join its Early Learning team. The Associate Preschool Teacher supports high-quality early childhood programs, helps implement curriculum, and contributes to a safe and engaging environment for young children. Working closely with Lead Teachers, the Associate Teacher supports daily classroom operations, guides children, mentors Assistant Teachers, and helps ensure a cohesive, developmentally appropriate program. The role may act as classroom lead when the Lead Teacher is absent.

Requirements

Must meet State of New Hampshire licensing requirements for Associate Teacher.
CPR/AED and First Aid certifications, or willingness to obtain them.
Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills.
Positive, patient, and nurturing approach to early childhood education.

Experience working with young children.

Responsibilities

Support the classroom in alignment with YMCA standards and New Hampshire State Licensing requirements.
Create a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children.
Build positive relationships with children and families while maintaining confidentiality.
Lead classroom activities, including curriculum implementation, snack and meals, and setup and cleanup.
Guide and mentor Assistant Teachers to ensure a cohesive classroom experience.
Monitor attendance, headcounts, and behavior, and act as classroom lead in the absence of the Lead Teacher.
Model and promote YMCA core values: caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
Respond appropriately to incidents and emergencies following YMCA procedures.
Collaborate with Lead Teachers and the Program Director on classroom operations and program quality.
Contribute to a positive, flexible, team-oriented culture.
