About The Position

Under general supervision by the RN, the Patient Care Technician provides basic nursing care for in-patients and out-patients as needed within assigned areas. The role collects and reports information to the supervising RN and completes patient-care-related documentation. Assignments include Cardiopulmonary (basic respiratory, cardiology, and nursing care); Medical/Surgical/Oncology (basic respiratory and nursing care, and assistance with orthopedic devices for adult and geriatric patients); and Resource Float Pool (basic respiratory and nursing care).

Requirements

• For hires after 10/31/16, completion of a CNA program, the first semester of a nursing program, or an EMT program.
• Upon hire, National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Experience with basic data entry.

Nice To Haves

• EKG training.
• One year of acute patient care experience or six months of experience in a direct patient care environment.

Responsibilities
