Associate Pastor
About The Position
Lakeview Community Church (LCC), part of the Christian & Missionary Alliance, is a welcoming, multicultural and multigenerational church in Putnam County, New York. More than 250 people call the church home, many of them young families. LCC’s mission is to make the invisible Christ visible in Putnam County and around the world by helping people connect relationally with God, an authentic church community, and the world around them. The Associate Pastor will partner with the Lead Pastor and use their gifts, experience, and passions to equip and empower the church body to make a multiplied Kingdom impact. The role offers potential opportunity for growth in responsibility and leadership. The position requires licensing with The Christian & Missionary Alliance.
Requirements
- Clear call to ministry and passion for the greater Putnam region.
- Master of Divinity or comparable degree, completed or in process.
- At least three years of pastoral ministry experience.
- Licensing or ordination with the Christian & Missionary Alliance, or sustaining accreditation.
- Demonstrated character and integrity, including mature love for God, humility, empathy, and authenticity aligned with the qualities described in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Commitment to communicating Scripture clearly, engagingly, and exegetically soundly.
- Alignment with the doctrinal convictions of Lakeview Community Church and the Christian & Missionary Alliance.
- Ability to identify, develop, and encourage leaders, invest in others, and build effective teams.
- Clear communication, healthy conflict resolution, and an approachable, compassionate demeanor in pastoral care settings.
- Willingness to adapt to new opportunities and ministry needs and to serve effectively in a changing environment.
Responsibilities
- Preach regularly as part of the preaching team.
- Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to provide compassionate pastoral care to individuals as needed.
- Lead the Life Group ministry.
- Lead the local community outreach strategy.
- Collaborate with ministries to create discipleship pathways appropriate for different stages of spiritual maturity.
- Track discipleship effectiveness and implement improvements with the staff team.
- Resource ministry leaders with practical tools, guidance, and encouragement.
- Identify and develop leaders.
