Associate Manager, Social Media

Bumble Inc.New York, NY
$70,000 - $80,000Hybrid

About The Position

Bumble is looking for an Associate Manager, Social Media who lives and breathes social – someone deeply tapped into internet culture, excited to make content, and eager to build their creative instincts and career in social media and brand marketing. Reporting to the Associate Director, Social Media, you’ll work closely with our Social Media Manager on the day-to-day execution of Bumble’s social presence across key platforms. You’ll help keep our channels active and culturally relevant by engaging with our community, attending events, spotting emerging trends, supporting social listening and reporting, publishing content, and jumping in to capture and create content yourself. We’re looking for someone who is just as comfortable organizing a content calendar as they are picking up an iPhone to film—or stepping in front of the camera themselves. You don’t need to be an expert editor yet, but you should be excited to learn, experiment, and develop your content creation skills. This is an opportunity for someone early in their career to get hands-on experience across the social ecosystem while developing a strong creative and strategic point of view.

Requirements

  • 1–2 years of experience in social media, digital marketing, community management, content creation, or a related field, including relevant internships or freelance experience.
  • You spend a lot of time on TikTok, Instagram, and emerging platforms and have strong instincts for how people actually communicate on them.
  • You’re comfortable being on camera and excited to appear in Bumble content when needed.
  • You’re comfortable picking up an iPhone and capturing content yourself—you don’t need a formal production setup to make something engaging.
  • You have experience with short-form video editing or are excited to develop your skills.
  • You’re comfortable approaching and engaging new people and can bring energy to content capture in real-world environments.
  • You’re interested in internet culture, dating and relationships, entertainment, and creators.
  • You’re highly organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • You’re a strong writer and curious about understanding what makes content perform.
  • You’re proactive, collaborative, and excited to develop your creative point of view.
  • You notice details others might miss and take pride in getting things right before they go live.

Nice To Haves

  • AI Fluency: AI is important to us. We’re excited by people who are curious and experimental, and who think thoughtfully about how AI can amplify their impact and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Social Media Manager in creating platform-native content for Bumble across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
  • Be comfortable getting in front of the camera and appearing in Bumble social content.
  • Capture social-first photo and video content on an iPhone at events, activations, shoots, around the office, and in everyday cultural moments.
  • Confidently approach and engage people to participate in social content when a concept calls for it.
  • Develop your instincts for strong social-first content, including hooks, framing, pacing, storytelling, and editing.
  • Experiment with platform features, trending formats, sounds, and editing styles, proactively pitching ideas that feel relevant to Bumble.
  • Edit short-form video using CapCut and other social-first tools, turning raw footage, creator content, UGC, and existing brand assets into engaging, platform-native content.
  • Contribute ideas during brainstorms and be willing to jump in and make the idea—not just identify the trend.
  • Stay closely tapped into TikTok, Instagram, emerging platforms, and internet culture, regularly surfacing trends, conversations, creators, and behaviors relevant to Bumble and our audience.
  • Go beyond sharing what’s trending by developing a point of view on why something is resonating and whether there’s a relevant way in for Bumble.
  • Monitor conversations around dating, relationships, singles culture, and Gen Z behavior to identify emerging themes and opportunities.
  • Surface community feedback, comments, and social insights that could inspire content or inform the broader team.
  • Monitor content performance across Bumble’s social channels and identify patterns in what’s working, what’s not, and why across hooks, formats, topics, and creative approaches.
  • Use performance signals and audience response to recommend ways to improve future content.
  • Support ongoing creative testing, documenting learnings and applying them to future content.
  • Track weekly performance and support monthly and campaign-level reporting.
  • Engage with Bumble’s social community and surface relevant conversations, feedback, and opportunities for the brand to participate.
  • Partner with teams across Marketing, Creative, Product Marketing, PR, Partnerships, and Member Love to support social content and campaigns.
  • Support coordination with creators, agencies, and external partners to keep assets, feedback, and deliverables moving.
  • Bring a social-first and Gen Z perspective to brainstorms, launches, and cultural moments.
  • Help manage the social content calendar and maintain a consistent posting cadence.
  • Schedule, publish, and QA content across platforms.
  • Keep assets, copy, approvals, and deadlines organized and proactively flag blockers.
  • Support the development of creative briefs, toolkits, and other materials for internal and external partners.
  • Ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ensure content aligns with Bumble’s visual identity, brand values, and tone of voice.
