Social Media Associate
About The Position
Behindthechair.com is seeking a creative, detail-oriented, and driven Social Media Associate to own the day-to-day organic voice of our supporting brand accounts. You’ll plan, create, publish, and grow content across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook for @thebtcshow, @oneshothairawards, @btcuniversity, and @arcscissors — turning our shows, awards, education, and products into scroll-stopping storytelling. You’ll also support our Social Media Director on the flagship @behindthechair_com master account as needed, and coordinate cross-promotion and collaborations between all of our accounts to keep the BTC brand family working as one. This role is perfect for someone who lives and breathes social media, stays ahead of digital trends, and has a genuine passion for the professional hair industry. Success here goes beyond posting: the ideal candidate immerses themselves in our platforms, understands our audiences, and consistently brings fresh creative ideas to the table.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of experience in social media marketing or digital content creation (internships included).
- Strong understanding of all major social platforms and their best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Photoshop, or similar).
- Experience with social media management tools (e.g., HubSpot, Later, Hootsuite, Sprout Social).
- A creative eye and a passion for visual storytelling.
- Highly organized, able to multitask, and comfortable meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated and detail-oriented, able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Nice To Haves
- Video editing skills and/or familiarity with TikTok and Reels content trends.
- A positive attitude and a desire to grow and innovate.
Responsibilities
- Own and run the @thebtcshow, @oneshothairawards, @btcuniversity, and @arcscissors accounts — planning, creating, and scheduling organic content across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Support the Social Media Director on the flagship @behindthechair_com master account as needed.
- Coordinate cross-promotion and collaborations between all BTC accounts, communicating with the Social Media Director to keep messaging aligned.
- Partner with the Editorial team on copy and captions, ensuring written content reflects BTC's brand voice and editorial standards before it publishes.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop visual and written content aligned with each brand’s guidelines and voice.
- Monitor social channels daily for engagement opportunities, trends, and community interaction.
- Respond to comments, DMs, and mentions promptly and professionally to grow and nurture our community.
- Track and analyze key performance metrics and generate regular performance reports.
- Stay current on emerging social trends, tools, formats, and best practices.
- Support influencer and brand partnership campaigns.
- Coordinate creative assets for paid social campaigns and track performance in partnership with the Paid Media Manager.
- Contribute ideas to content planning and campaign brainstorming sessions.
