About The Position

The Associate Logistics Manager oversees day-to-day transportation operations under the direction of the Dedicated Logistics Manager. The role encompasses driver management, load planning, and customer service to support customer satisfaction, along with revenue generation through headhaul and backhaul, invoicing and billing, safety, equipment maintenance monitoring, and driver payroll. The role is expected to meet key performance indicators established by the Dedicated Logistics Manager, Operations Manager, and customer.

Responsibilities

Assign drivers to loads by matching load details—including origin, destination, freight type, mileage, stops, and directions—with driver needs and availability, using the AS400 computer system, Qualcomm satellite, and direct or telecommunication.
Support driver training and retention by building and maintaining relationships and addressing driver needs, including home time, payroll, utilities, equipment breakdowns, logging violations, and equipment issues.
Manage account profitability and growth.
Monitor driver load assignments to meet customer service expectations.
Monitor driver safety needs, pre-trip inspections, and CSA scores to support safe, legal, and on-time freight delivery.
Promote safety and enforce compliance with federal, state, and organizational rules and regulations, with support from the corporate safety department.
Coordinate with billing, vans, customer service, risk, safety, payroll, and fuel departments.
Ensure compliance with policies and procedures and make safety-conscious decisions.
Adhere to customer dynamics, service expectations, goals, and initiatives aimed at improving value for the customer and Werner.
Build positive, professional working relationships with drivers, associates, and customers; monitor performance metrics; participate in customer meetings; and coordinate maintenance of assets and equipment.
Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisory personnel.
