About The Position

This role involves assisting the sales team in promoting and selling surgical glaucoma devices to ophthalmologists, clinics, and surgery centers. The Associate Interventional Glaucoma Sales Representative will build relationships with healthcare professionals by understanding their needs and providing information on how our products can improve patient outcomes. This position will help identify new sales opportunities within the assigned territory, work with sales representatives to manage customer inventory, truck stock, and ordering, and ensure neat, accurate, and timely preparation of necessary paperwork. The role requires calmly and effectively addressing concerns and complaints of physicians, completing and passing all required training, and supporting the sales team with surgical case coverage. Maintaining direct contact with customers before and after surgical cases, participating in product training, and supporting senior sales representatives in educating healthcare teams are key responsibilities. The role also involves learning to demonstrate product features and benefits, attending sales training and conferences, assisting in maintaining relationships with existing customers, and keeping records of customer interactions using CRM. Adaptability to changing environments and expectations, collaborative work with the sales team, timely completion of administrative paperwork and reports, and maintaining a professional image are essential. The position requires willingness to travel, staying up-to-date on industry trends, and gathering customer feedback.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, life sciences, healthcare, or a related field.
  • 2 years sales experience is required.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with healthcare professionals.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop sales skills with the intent of developing into a sales representative.
  • Self-motivated and driven with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn CRM systems.
  • Support company goals and objectives, policies and procedures that comply with FDA Quality System Regulations (QSR), ISO 13485, and any other applicable domestic or international requirements.
  • Must be able to travel within the territory as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the surgical environment is preferred.
  • Interest in healthcare, medical devices, or sales is highly desirable.
  • Basic understanding of medical or healthcare concepts is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team in promoting and selling surgical glaucoma devices to ophthalmologists, clinics, and surgery centers.
  • Build relationships with healthcare professionals by understanding their needs and providing information on how our products can improve patient outcomes.
  • Identify new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Work with sales representatives to effectively manage customer based inventory, truck stock, and ordering management.
  • Prepare paperwork necessary to consummate transactions with customers.
  • Address concerns and complaints of physicians.
  • Complete and pass all initial and ongoing required anatomical, clinical, and technology related training to include product and field certifications.
  • Support the sales team with collaborative or independent surgical case coverage of Sight Sciences’ technologies with ophthalmologists in surgery centers or hospitals.
  • Maintain direct contact with customers before and after surgical cases to provide approved marketing assets, support materials, and/or respond to customer needs.
  • Participate in product training sessions to understand the technical aspects of glaucoma devices and surgical procedures.
  • Support senior sales representatives in educating healthcare teams on product usage.
  • Learn to demonstrate product features and benefits to potential customers effectively.
  • Attend various sales training workshops, sales meetings, national/regional conferences, and relevant trade shows.
  • Assist in maintaining relationships with existing customers by providing excellent customer service and follow-up support.
  • Keep records of customer interactions and sales activities using CRM.
  • Adapt to changing customer and environmental expectations and work collaboratively with sales team members and leaders to deliver solutions.
  • Complete administrative paperwork in a timely manner and provide reports to Manager regarding established average call activity and feedback from physicians.
  • Adapt to a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Complete weekly sales planning updates aligned with territory case support, sales initiatives, and activities.
  • Engage in clear and consistent daily communication (written and verbal) with sales representative, the sales leader, and team.
  • Accurate and timely preparation of reports of business transactions and expense accounts.
  • Maintain a professional and credible image with key physicians, medical office and hospital personnel, distributors, consultants, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Travel (including overnight) within the territory or region as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitor products, and new developments in glaucoma treatment.
  • Gather and report feedback from customers to help the sales team improve strategies and product offerings.
