About The Position

The Associate I, Retail Sales Cashier provides welcoming, timely, and professional customer service while helping maintain an organized, well-stocked sales floor. The role operates a computer-based point-of-sale system and credit card machine to ensure accurate product pricing and transactions. It also supports store operations by completing opening and closing procedures, maintaining clean and safe customer areas, and cross-training or providing backup in other departments as needed. The position is part-time and pays $16.51 per hour. The posting is open through 10/26/2026.

Requirements

• Accurately perform essential duties; reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
• Be accurate with numbers and general calculations and understand the value of coins and U.S. currency.
• Use basic math, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
• Communicate effectively with customers, managers, supervisors, staff, and peers.
• Operate a computer-based cash register and credit card machine.
• Withstand prolonged standing, bending, and lifting for up to eight hours per day.
• Have color vision sufficient for accurate transactions.
• Work a varied schedule that includes weekends, evenings, and holidays, with occasional overtime as necessary.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail sales or cash-handling experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and respond to inquiries in a welcoming, timely, and professional manner.
• Verify till counts, process accurate cashier transactions, and maintain a balanced cash drawer using a computer-based point-of-sale system.
• Engage customers in the roundup initiative and explain the mission it supports.
• Assist customers with questions, concerns, and purchases while upholding company values.
• Complete opening and closing procedures.
• Keep shelves, racks, the sales floor, POS area, and restrooms clean, organized, safe, and well stocked; put away merchandise and returned or unwanted items.
• Initiate customer delight/power hour calls over the intercom to organize and clean the sales floor.
• Follow retail center policies, procedures, and safety processes.
• Cross-train in other departments or areas and provide backup as required.
• Perform additional duties as required.
