Associate GTM Engineer

G2•Chicago, IL
•$110,000 - $130,000

About The Position

G2 is hiring a hands-on Associate GTM Engineer to help make its go-to-market engine faster, smarter, and more personalized using AI. The role partners with Revenue, Marketing, and Customer Success teams to build, test, improve, and roll out AI-powered workflows, with guidance from G2’s GTM Engineer. The position translates workflow requests into clear specifications, builds and debugs workflows using tools such as GPT-4, Claude, n8n, Clay, and Exa, and applies critical thinking and UX principles to choose appropriate workflow designs. It also supports pilots, team enablement, documentation, and training, and tracks outcomes such as hours saved, pipeline influenced, and conversion improvements. The role contributes to operationalizing GTM strategy, deploying self-serve AI tools, connecting workflows across systems such as Salesforce, Gong, and G2 Intent, improving adoption, and supporting tooling decisions and G2’s AI infrastructure for GTM. The position is preferably based in Chicago and the person should be willing to come into the office, but this is not a requirement.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in RevOps, GTM strategy, sales, or a technical/engineering role within B2B SaaS GTM.
  • Demonstrated success building or supporting AI automation in GTM workflows, such as lead scoring, pipeline insights, AI summaries, or outbound triggers.
  • Technical proficiency to design and implement workflows, including general software engineering literacy about servers, APIs, and how data moves between systems.
  • Ability to choose and test appropriate technical solutions.
  • Hands-on experience building and debugging workflows in a platform such as n8n, along with curiosity and willingness to learn quickly.
  • Working familiarity with the sales and marketing technology stack, including Salesforce, Salesloft, and Gong, as well as generative AI and automation tools such as Claude, Zapier, Clay, and Notion.
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Snowflake, Looker, or equivalent platforms; day-to-day practitioner or seller experience is preferred over experience limited to building on top of the platforms.
  • Ability to collaborate with Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing teams.
  • Bias for speed, including quick iteration, hypothesis testing, and continuous learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a day-to-day practitioner or seller using Salesforce, Snowflake, Looker, or equivalent platforms.
  • Based in Chicago and willing to come into the office; this is a preference, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Work with RevOps, Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to document workflow requests as clear specifications, escalating scope and priority questions to the GTM Engineer.
  • Build, test, debug, and iterate on workflows from defined specifications using GPT-4, Claude, n8n, Clay, Exa, and similar tools.
  • Apply critical thinking and UX principles to design workflows, follow established patterns for choosing agentic workflows versus deterministic logic, and raise design questions early.
  • Help roll out workflows with GTM teams, gather feedback from sales representatives and CSMs, and support adoption through documentation and training.
  • Report on hours saved, pipeline influenced, and conversion lifts for workflows.
  • Operationalize project plans into real-time workflows that drive pipeline growth and faster prospect follow-up.
  • Launch automated and Slack-triggered workflows to reduce preparation and administrative time and dynamically prioritize accounts.
  • Improve handoffs across Salesforce, Gong, and G2 Intent to reduce time-to-action.
  • Align AI workflows with how sales representatives and CSMs work to increase adoption of GTM tools.
  • Partner with the GTM Engineering lead on build-versus-buy decisions, third-party model evaluations, and extending G2’s AI infrastructure for GTM.
