About The Position

Wayne State University is seeking an Associate or Full Professor for a tenure or tenure-track position in the College of Nursing at its Detroit campus. The faculty member will sustain and grow an impactful research program, teach and evaluate assigned courses, contribute to college and university service, supervise student research, and mentor junior faculty. The university is a public, urban research university located in Detroit, Michigan, with a commitment to excellence, collaboration, integrity, diversity, and inclusion.

Requirements

• PhD required, along with a graduate degree in nursing.
• Demonstrated independent research program with sustained, peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals.
• Evidence of external research funding, such as NIH, HRSA, CDC, or foundation grants, as Principal Investigator or Co-PI.
• Clear trajectory toward continued scholarly growth and national recognition in the area of expertise.
• Documented record of effective undergraduate and/or graduate teaching, didactic and/or clinical.
• Evidence of mentoring students, junior faculty, or postdoctoral fellows in research or professional development.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and grow a strong program of research.
• Maintain a sustained, externally funded research program with measurable impact.
• Publish in reputable, peer-reviewed, nationally recognized journals.
• Prepare, teach, and evaluate assigned courses.
• Use teaching strategies appropriate to students’ learning needs.
• Participate in College and University committees.
• Supervise student research and chair or serve on doctoral dissertation and/or DNP project committees.
• Mentor junior faculty members regarding teaching, scholarship, and promotion.
• Perform related duties as assigned.
