The Division of Nursing and Health Science invites applications for open-rank, tenured or tenure-track faculty positions at the assistant, associate, or professor level. The Ohio State University is a model 21st century public, land grant, research, urban, community-engaged institution. The College of Nursing is a leading voice and advocate in education, scientific discovery and practice to change the future of healthcare for the better. The Division of Nursing and Health Science serves as a home to nurse and health scientists leading rigorous programs of research addressing critical health challenges across the lifespan, from maternal-infant health to complex care and aging, and many areas in between. This excellence is reflected in our college’s ranking as #6 nationally and #1 among Big Ten nursing schools in NIH funding. We are seeking two faculty members with programs of research well aligned with the visions and missions of our university, college, and division. While all are welcome to apply, we have particular interest in candidates whose work focuses on health informatics/health services research and/or artificial intelligence. Areas of interest include, but are not limited to, clinical and biomedical informatics; digital health infrastructure and health information exchange; health systems research, healthcare delivery, operations, and patient safety; learning health systems and academic-medical center partnerships; clinical decision support; predictive analytics; and the development and responsible use of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and natural language processing to improve health and healthcare. The college is also recognized for its strengths in translational biosciences and dissemination and implementation science. Through our state-of-the-art Translational Biosciences Laboratory and robust interdisciplinary research infrastructure, we welcome candidates whose work advances understanding of, for example, the biological basis of health and disease through biomarker research, biotechnology, stress and other biobehavioral sciences, omics research, systems biology, and precision health. The Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for Evidence-based Practice in Nursing and Healthcare provides extensive scholarly resources, mentorship, and methodological expertise to support dissemination and implementation research. We seek scholars who wish to leverage this infrastructure to advance the uptake, sustainability, and scale-up of evidence-based practices across healthcare and community settings. This is not a remote position. Faculty are expected to reside in Ohio and be physically present on campus in Columbus at least three days per week.
