The Associate Field Service Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining diagnostic tools that directly impact patient health. This role involves conducting service, repair, and installation of products and IT solutions at customer sites, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. The engineer will diagnose system failures, determine cost-effective solutions, and escalate complex issues as needed. This position is part of the Service Organization, located in the SE Michigan metro area, and will be fully remote. Our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time. You will be part of the Field Service Team, reporting to the Field Service Manager, and responsible for ensuring the optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment, specifically servicing Chemistry, Automation, and Immunoassay systems. Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent military experience (Applicants with applicable military experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis).
  • 0–1-year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation.
  • Ability to travel – Some trainings are onsite and will require extended stays of 1-3 weeks. Travel to other territories for support 1-2 times per year.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment/tools up to 50lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience of troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
  • Developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, resulting to increased customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term retention.
  • A technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related.

Responsibilities

  • Under moderate direction from Field Service mentors and leadership, complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment.
  • Provide excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter’s customers.
  • Provide technical training on products.
  • Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records.
  • Order repair parts.
  • Adhere to cycle times.
  • Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals.
  • Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their unique needs.
