About The Position

The Associate Field Service Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for the vital work of maintaining diagnostic tools, which directly influences patient health and well-being. Conducting service, repair and/or installation of products or IT solutions at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. Diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system. Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory. This position is part of the Service Organization located in the SE Michigan metro area and will be fully remote. This position services the Chemistry, Automation and Immunoassay systems. In this role, you will have the opportunity to: Under moderate direction from Field Service mentors and leadership, complete troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, and service repair needs on Beckman Coulter equipment including providing excellent and efficient service to Beckman Coulter’s customers, along with technical training on products. Maintain accurate customer service logs and internal service records, order repair parts, and adhere to cycle times. Utilize business systems such as OBI, Sales Force, and SharePoint for Service Call Planning and advancing team goals Engage with both internal and external stakeholders, understanding and meeting their unique needs

Requirements

  • Associate degree or equivalent military experience
  • 0–1-year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, and/or instrumentation
  • Ability to travel
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to lift, move or carry equipment/tools up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years’ experience of troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications and/or service repair.
  • Developing positive business relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, resulting to increased customer satisfaction, and supporting long-term retention
  • A technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related
