The Associate Director of Marketing Operations is a strategic, solutions-oriented leader that manages all operational aspects of the review, approval, and production of Biogen’s US commercial promotional activities across multiple therapeutic areas. This role serves as the connection between the brands’ marketing strategies and program execution. S/he will interface with all levels, partnering cross functionally with teams including Commercial Marketing, Sales Training, Regulatory, Medical, Legal, Compliance and IT teams, as well as external and internal agency partners. With oversight of individuals that manage all aspects of the Promotional Review Committee (PRC), along with print, fulfillment and proofreading, s/he will guide the team and help to foster team growth and development. This role will establish operational KPI’s and will measure, analyze, and report on them – and leverage data as a key driver of operational efficiencies and optimization efforts. S/he will own the MRL performance dashboard for leadership review. Responsibilities to include but not limited to Team Leadership Key member of the Marketing Excellence and Operations leadership team Hire and retain highly capable people, mentoring and championing career development Continually build team skills to align to business needs and personal goals through 1:1 meetings and trainings Assist team in managing forecasting and prioritization process for all incoming submissions (with Marketing and other groups submitting). Proactively escalate issues as needed As a Marketing Ops subject matter expert (MRL, print and fulfillment), identify and communicate best practices to the team and beyond Business Partnering / Planning Set vision and direction for PRC process in partnership with MRL Operations Leads In partnership with Marketing leadership, drive early planning and evolve current forecasting process. Provide Marketing leadership with ongoing function updates and insights Collaborate with Marketing teams to plan and prioritize material development and review. Inform stakeholders of activity relative to cPRC, Print, Fulfillment and Sample Program by providing quarterly utilization metrics and analysis Participate in extended Marketing team meetings to foster relationships and provide early guidance to project owners, drive awareness of key initiatives upfront Responsible for strategic insight utilizing MRL metrics across all therapeutic areas Work closely with the PRC Lead and Associate Managers in coordinating timelines for MRL review and production deadlines In partnership with Agency Management, maintain ME&O dashboard and cascade updates and recommendations to key stakeholders on a regular basis, including senior leadership Drive efficient and compliant cPRC review process Ensure adherence to all MRL process requirements. Responsible for communication of key MRL process updates. Partner with Project Owners/Agencies to ensure materials are submitted correctly; identify any areas for improvement and provide actionable feedback Lead positive change by identifying, supporting, and guiding improvements. Continually evaluate process to identify areas of inefficiencies and improve performance through prompt implementation of resolutions Lead workstream(s) of cross functional partners designed to improve process effectiveness and optimize material lifecycle with alignment to commercial and compliance requirements Ensure effective training for internal stakeholders and agency partners on process and system. Partner with PRC Lead and Agency Management to identify where additional training may be required Drive MRL consistencies across the organization Print and Fulfillment Lead a team responsible for the production and distribution of the promotional materials (print, fulfillment, sample and training device program). Ensure team is pro-actively managing all vendors, business rules are being met, SLAs are followed, and budgets are reported accurately monthly Evaluate print/fulfillment model and refine as needed to drive efficiency and compliance in print materials and inventory set-up Partner with cross functional stakeholders in driving process improvements and change management Define metrics strategy to track, monitor and manage print inventory and cost savings (usage, destruction, and expiration). Lead ongoing audits of material, providing key data inputs to drive decisions
