Job Summary: The Capital Program Manager will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and financial management of Waters' Consumable capital projects. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specifications, supporting the company's strategic growth and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in capital project management, preferably within the life sciences, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology industries.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-million dollar capital portfolio
  • Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall), and tools (e.g., MS Project).
  • Excellent financial acumen with experience in budget development, cost control, and financial reporting for capital projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and manage external vendors effectively.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in risk management, problem-solving, and decision-making in a complex environment.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards applicable to the life sciences industry (e.g., GMP, FDA).
  • Ability to travel (~10%) as required to project sites

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PMP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of capital projects, from initial concept and feasibility studies through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resource allocation, and risk management strategies.
  • Collaborate with various internal departments (e.g., R&D, manufacturing, engineering, finance, quality assurance) and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, contractors, regulatory bodies) to ensure project alignment and successful execution.
  • Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and provide regular financial forecasts and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies for capital projects
  • Implement and maintain robust reporting mechanisms to track project progress, performance metrics, and financial expenditures.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential issues or deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Prepare and present project updates, performance reports, and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Mentor and guide project teams, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
