About The Position

The Associate Director, Athletics Communications is responsible for designing and maintaining media guides, game programs, and departmental websites. This role involves updating, maintaining, and reporting conference/national level statistical records using a computerized statistical program. The position also entails responding to media requests, traveling with teams to handle media relations, and serving as an intermediary between the University's athletic programs and the media/public. Additionally, the Associate Director will monitor and post on team and department social media platforms, nominate and promote University teams, coaches, and players for awards/honors, write and submit information for the press, and manage the scheduling and payroll functions of the statistics crew for game day operations.

Requirements

  • Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • Requires a minimum of 4 years of experience in public relations and media communications for athletic events.
  • Strong computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, and desktop publishing capabilities required.
  • Ability to record and interpret sports statistics required.
  • Knowledge of all sports and related NCAA rules and regulations is required.
