About The Position

The Assistant Athletics Director for Communications is responsible for directing the production of media guides, game programs, and daily press releases. This role aims to attract national and regional media attention, encourage game day coverage, and improve media relations, acting as a liaison between the University and the media/public. Additionally, the position directs day-to-day office operations and administers programs to enhance the University's communication efforts. The role also involves revising and correcting written work as the chief editor for various publications and managing incoming calls to respond to inquiries and resolve problems.

Requirements

  • Requires a relevant Bachelor's Degree.
  • Requires a minimum of 2 years of experience managing media communications and reporting sports information.
  • Excellent communication and computer skills including word processing and desktop publishing capabilities.
  • Knowledge of intercollegiate athletics, statistics, related NCAA rules and regulations and news media is necessary.
