About The Position

AbbVie US LLC is hiring an Associate Director, Analytics & Insights in Mettawa, Illinois. This hybrid position is onsite three fixed days per week and work-from-home two days per week. The role leads trade and distribution analytics and research to inform strategy, evaluate contract and program performance, and quantify return on investment across therapeutic and customer segments. It partners with cross-functional teams to shape strategic decisions and support current and pipeline products, while driving research, performance reporting, and business reviews for pharmacy, distributor, and GPO strategies. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, or a closely related field and five years of qualifying experience as a consultant or analyst with a pharmaceutical manufacturer, or a master’s degree in one of those fields and three years of qualifying experience. The specified experience includes pharmaceutical data analysis, multivariate statistics, analytical software and models, advanced analysis for patient services or market access, and preparation of written and oral presentations. Work experience may be gained concurrently, and a reasonable combination of education, training, and work experience is acceptable.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in Business Analytics, Statistics, or a closely related field plus five years of experience as a consultant or analyst with a pharmaceutical manufacturer; alternatively, a master’s degree or foreign academic equivalent in a relevant field plus three years of such experience.
Required experience may be gained concurrently; a reasonable combination of education, training, and work experience is acceptable.
Experience pulling data, applying multivariate statistics, using analytical software, and analyzing pharmaceutical data sources including CMS, IQVIA, Symphony Health, EDI 867 (Product Transfer & Resale), EDI 852 (Product Activity), and HIRC.
Experience pulling, synthesizing, and analyzing data from multiple internal and syndicated sources to generate insights on channel performance, patient access, distribution flow, commercial opportunities, and risks.
Experience performing data analysis using SAS, R, SPSS, SQL, and Excel.
Experience building and applying advanced analytical models to support decision-making.
Experience performing advanced analysis to support patient services or market access functions.
Experience preparing written and oral presentations for peers, colleagues, and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute trade and distribution analytics and research to shape strategy, evaluate contract and program performance, and quantify ROI across therapeutic and customer segments.
Partner with Market Access, Trade & Distribution, Brand Marketing, Legal, Finance, Pricing, and HEOR to influence strategic decisions, assess product and portfolio impact, and strengthen support for current and pipeline products.
Drive primary research, KPI reporting, standardized performance measures, and Trade Quarterly Business Reviews to support Specialty Pharmacy, Retail Pharmacy, Distributor, and GPO strategy development.
Evaluate the value and impact of Specialty Pharmacy, FFS, and GPO contracts.
Develop data strategies and identify value-based opportunities with trading partners.
Pull, synthesize, and analyze internal and syndicated data to generate insights on channel performance, patient access, distribution flow, commercial opportunities, and risks.
Build and apply advanced analytical models to support decision-making.
Perform advanced analysis to support patient services or market access functions.
Prepare written and oral presentations for peers, colleagues, and business stakeholders.
