Associate Dentist - Part Time
About The Position
42 North Dental is hiring a part-time General Dentist for its established practice in New Haven, Connecticut. The dentist oversees the clinical patient experience, from the initial examination and treatment planning through delivery of care. The practice welcomes a strong flow of new patients and offers in-office specialty services in periodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and orthodontics. The schedule is three days per week—Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday—from 8 AM to 5 PM. Compensation is a daily guarantee or a percentage of collections, up to 36%. The position offers access to continuing education and professional development opportunities. Some listed benefits require full-time employment averaging 32 hours per week.
Requirements
- DMD or DDS degree from a university-based dental education program accredited by the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation (ADA CODA).
- Current state license to practice dentistry.
- Documentation of Hepatitis B vaccination.
- Proof of malpractice insurance.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Promote oral health and disease prevention.
- Diagnose oral diseases.
- Educate patients about oral health and treatment options.
- Create treatment plans to maintain or restore patients’ oral health and review treatment options with them.
- Review, maintain, and update patients’ medical and dental records.
- Review and interpret X-rays and diagnostic tests.
- Monitor the growth and development of teeth and jaws.
- Provide restorative and preventive dental care.
- Perform surgical procedures on the teeth, bone, and soft tissues of the oral cavity.
- Maintain high standards of patient care, ethics, and professionalism.
- Keep current with developments, technologies, best practices, and standards of care through continuing education and professional development.
