About The Position

As an Associate, Development, you will lead development of data center projects across the United States. The position is based at Invenergy’s Chicago office, with a hybrid schedule: in office Monday through Thursday and remote on Fridays if work permits. Travel is anticipated at approximately 25% as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 3–5 years of work experience in the energy industry or relevant experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel as needed, anticipated at 25% of the time.
• Eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

• Understanding of the energy industry and development of renewable energy and real estate projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of individual data center projects in the United States.
• Identify development prospects, including fatal flaw identification and initial site reconnaissance.
• Secure site control for development prospects, including negotiating leases, easements, and other agreements with landowners.
• Initiate and manage generation interconnection activities.
• Interface with government officials, neighbors, and the public to establish positive relationships and communicate project objectives, benefits, and details.
• Coordinate internal and external support from legal, engineering, environmental, interconnection, and construction teams.
• Manage complicated budgets and schedules, including risk identification and problem-solving.
• Represent Invenergy LLC with customers, landowners, state and local officials, and other stakeholders.
