Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • One year related sales and service experience.
  • Interest in sales.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Good working knowledge of personal deposit products and services.
  • Basic knowledge of consumer loan products.
  • Basic financial acumen.
  • Proficiency with various computer systems and similar technology.
  • May be required to register and maintain loan originator license through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry.
  • Submit fingerprints, update registry and complete annual training required of licensed individuals.

Responsibilities

  • Actively promote and sell North Shore Bank products and services.
  • Build account relationships and perform Teller duties.
  • Perform sales support activities for the sales area of the branch, with an average of at least 50% of activities devoted to sales and sales support.
  • Perform office and administrative duties as assigned to support operational needs.
  • Open new accounts and perform deposit account maintenance, ensuring accuracy and customer understanding of terms, conditions, and disclosures.
  • Achieve Teller referrals and production goals.
  • Provide basic information on consumer loan products and refer potential customers.
  • Recognize additional customer opportunities and provide qualified referrals to branch business partners.
  • Make outbound calls using internal prospect lists and participate in call initiatives.
  • Provide quality, personalized service to ensure customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Follow up with clients via telephone, written correspondence, or personal contact.
  • Strategize with Branch Manager and Personal Banker for achievement of production goals.
  • Follow North Shore Bank sales processes.
  • Perform duties as a Teller and New Accounts representative as required.
  • Complete required customer files, documentation, and paperwork, and provide support to the personal banking area.
  • Research and follow up on incomplete/missing documentation.
  • Assist customers in statement balancing and research.
  • Prepare documents for re-titling of accounts.
  • Provide other sales support as required.
  • Actively participate in sales, product knowledge, and service meetings.
  • Run transactions efficiently and accurately, monitoring work for quality and quantity.
  • May open/close branch as required.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and security procedures.
  • Answer customer questions and direct them to appropriate employees for complex issues.
  • Handle complex and non-routine inquiries from Tellers and customers concerning bank policy and operating procedures.
  • Research and solve customer problems, referring difficult situations to the manager.
  • Display good business judgment when waiving fees or negotiating deposit rates within established guidelines.
  • Consistently perform North Shore Bank customer service standards with both external and internal customers.
