About The Position

The firm is a consumer protection law firm headquartered in New York City’s Financial District, representing consumers who have been harassed or deceived by creditors and debt collectors. It is seeking a full-time Associate Attorney to handle matters in Pennsylvania. The role offers exposure to a range of consumer protection issues, including transactional and civil litigation matters. The position is based from home and requires communicating with the New York headquarters exclusively by telephone and electronic means, such as email and Microsoft Teams. Travel may be required for court appearances, and the firm states that the attorney must be willing to travel up to 50%.

Requirements

Currently admitted to practice law in Pennsylvania.
At least 1 year of relevant experience at a law firm.
Experience drafting legal documents such as pleadings and legal memoranda.
Superior organizational and time-management skills to meet strict deadlines.
Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Highest ethical standards and professional integrity.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with senior management and employees at all levels.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Strong legal research skills.

Responsibilities

Maintain and supervise a heavy, diversified caseload of firm clients in Northeastern Pennsylvania.
Communicate with clients regarding their matters.
Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda; review and draft agreements.
Communicate with opposing parties to resolve or settle claims.
Conduct legal research on simple and complex issues in contract law and other areas of consumer law.
Travel for court appearances when required.
