About The Position

Hall Booth Smith, P.C. (HBS) is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Litigation Practice. The role supports a partner in the Columbus, Georgia office, with the option to work from the Atlanta, Georgia office. The associate will join a growing team and office, collaborate with experienced litigators, participate in case strategy and development, and interact with and develop firm clients. The position involves representing and defending clients in complex civil litigation and appellate matters, including hearings, trials, and depositions. The attorney will conduct legal research, draft pleadings and appellate briefs, prepare legal documents, and prepare and respond to discovery. They will communicate consistently about cases, assist in developing legal strategy and advice, and work closely with partners, associates, and other team members to build and execute defense strategies.

Requirements

Civil litigation experience, or internships or clerkships for new graduates.
Active membership in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
Experience writing briefs, memoranda, and reports.
Motivation to attend trial and apply litigation skills.
Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability and eagerness to contribute to litigation strategies, think strategically and about complex matters, and collaborate with attorneys and clients in managing cases.

Responsibilities

Communicate effectively about cases, provide consistent updates, and assist in developing legal strategy and advice.
