This is an extra duty position for an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Central High School for the 2026-2027 school year. The primary function is to develop and implement an exemplary athletic program that provides the highest quality education and growth opportunities for every student athlete. The position requires ensuring compliance with school policies, working cooperatively with staff, relating positively to parents and the community, demonstrating professional growth, completing records and reports accurately, demonstrating proficiency in English, accepting responsibilities beyond the team setting, assuming responsibility for care of materials, equipment, and facilities, and ensuring a clean, orderly, and safe environment. It also involves fostering positive interactions among student-athletes, building supportive relationships with the school and community, demonstrating enthusiasm for coaching and learning, promoting self-direction and self-motivation in students, and creating clearly defined standards of behavior and academic performance. The coach must exhibit comprehensive knowledge of the sport, adapt instruction to student needs, develop and sustain an organized athletic program with long-term planning, employ diverse strategies for student-athlete development, clearly convey fundamental coaching expectations, utilize appropriate coaching techniques, and maintain a system for monitoring student progress.
