About The Position

The Assistant Vitamin/HBA Manager helps customers make healthy choices by providing excellent customer service and helping manage and lead the Vitamin/HBA team. The role supports department merchandising and operations to promote productivity and profit, including ordering, inventory control, product quality, and team supervision. It coordinates production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork. The position helps ensure customers receive knowledgeable assistance with vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products, offering product guidance without prescribing. It also contributes to recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating team members; unloads and sorts store deliveries; and helps ensure compliance with company health, safety, and sanitation guidelines. The work takes place in a fast-paced retail environment and includes housekeeping and other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age.
Have at least 1 year of vitamin, homeopathy, or holistic experience with leadership duties, or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
Be dependable and reliable, with the ability to work a flexible schedule that changes, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Demonstrate outgoing, friendly behavior and a positive attitude, with the ability to interact with customers.
Have good communication skills and the ability to give and take direction while maintaining a team environment.
Adhere to safety, health, and Weights and Measures regulations.
Be willing to gain education on new products and alternative health.
Have strong organization and prioritization skills.
Be able to stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the workday; lift, stack, and maneuver objects up to 50 lbs. from 4 to 72 inches for up to 2 feet without mechanical assistance.
Be able to move a ladder using up to 5 lbs. of force for up to 2 hours and up to 25 feet.
Be able to maneuver a utility cart holding 20 lbs., requiring up to 35 lbs. of force, for up to 2 hours and up to 20 feet.
Be able to walk up to 3 miles during an 8-hour shift.

Responsibilities

Assist with managing and merchandising the department for productivity and profit.
Help manage ordering, inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Vitamin/HBA team.
Coordinate production, merchandising, and sales through planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork.
Help lead the team in delivering quality products, service, and customer experiences.
Provide customers with assistance and guidance about vitamins, supplements, and health and beauty products without prescribing.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of vitamins, supplements, and other health and body products.
Assist in recruiting, hiring, developing, mentoring, and motivating the Vitamin team.
Unload and sort store deliveries.
Help ensure health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and regulations are followed by the team.
Perform general housekeeping, including cleaning and dusting the department.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
