About The Position
We are looking for an assistant teacher passionate about bringing the best out in kids, connecting to our community and having fun! We believe great minds are nurtured by great teachers. This role is for the 2026-2027 School Year and is a full-time, hourly position working Monday-Friday, 8-hour days between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm.
Requirements
- Are 21+ and have 2+ years of experience working with children in a professional, volunteer, or familial capacity
- High school diploma
- Passionate about working with children in a fun, diverse environment
- Ability to pass all relevant clearances
Nice To Haves
- Associate/Bachelor degree or college credits from an accredited college or university in childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or the human services field preferred
Responsibilities
- Finding new and engaging ways to help kids learn
- Being patient and kind with our parents
- Cultivating and fostering a safe and nurturing environment that will encourage physical, emotional, and intellectual growth of children in the program
- Adjusting curriculum to ensure that all children meet the learning objectives
- Utilizing state and YMCA guidelines to ensure the safety and well being of the children
