About The Position

The Assistant Technical Designer, Bottoms supports Technical Designers with sample preparation, fit session administration, and data entry. The role helps meet departmental goals and maintain brand integrity throughout the fit process, with the customer in mind. The position is based at the Chico's FAS corporate location in Fort Myers, Florida. It may exist across multiple brands, and some duties may vary.

Requirements

• Associate or bachelor's degree required; preferably in Fashion Design or a related field.
• 1–2+ years of experience in the fashion apparel industry required.
• Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Solid written and verbal communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Google Share.
• Entrepreneurial spirit, passion for the apparel business, and ability to work effectively as a team player.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of garment manufacturing.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
• Experience with web-based applications such as FLEM PLM or comparable software.
• Knowledge of pattern software such as Optitex, CLO, or Browzwear.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily fitting preparation by measuring samples and evaluating garment fit and construction against applicable standards.
• Help prepare technical packages by entering measurements, pictures, sketches, and other relevant information into the PLM system.
• Enter fit notes and comments into the PLM system.
• Assist with coordinating, scheduling, and setting up meetings.
• Communicate daily with vendors by fax and email regarding technical issues.
• Receive and organize garments.
• May oversee the wear trial process, including evaluating results, tracking products under testing, and maintaining the participant database.
• Support Technical Design leaders in completing departmental goals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
