Lake Country Co-op invites applications for the position of full-time Assistant Team Leader onsite at our Convenience Store/Gas Bar in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. This position will supervise Team Members, maintain inventory and champion Asset Protection and Safety Management at the La Ronge Convenience Store and Gas Bar encompassing sales of approximately $9.4 million. Requirements

  • You have 2 years of Retail Convenience Store management or supervisory experience including Convenience Store operations, knowledge of pumps, fuel and compliance in a full-service environment.
  • You are creative, self-reliant, goal oriented, and can set and adjust priorities in an ever-changing retail environment.
  • You possess experience in the areas of member relations, selling, health and safety, ordering, receiving, merchandising, asset maintenance.
  • You have a strong understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures.
  • You have a high level of integrity and accountability.
  • You have sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization and execution skills.
  • You must be able to plan and organize your own work and that of others, supervise others, and delegate to others.
  • You have a well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and leadership skills.
  • You are tech savvy with a good understanding of retail technology.
  • You are customer focused and have the ability to work in a fast paced, guest facing environment.
  • You must be willing to obtain propane dispenser and WHMIS certifications.
  • You can fulfill the physical job requirements, standing, working outside and inside, lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • You have a valid Class 5 license and must have reliable vehicle for daily trips in the La Ronge area; you will be reimbursed by Lake Country Co-op for business related expenses.
  • You have a flexible work schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of the Retail Energy Advance Program is an asset.
  • Co-operative Retailing System experience and post-secondary education in a business-related field are assets.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate the behaviors and actions to support Lake Country Co-operative’s vision, mission, and safety principles to make a difference in members lives, with a strong customer focused approach.
  • Provide an exceptional customer experience at all touch points through various communication channels.
  • Assist with building and leading a high-performance team that delivers on budgeted targets by maximizing operational efficiency.
  • Lead the Convenience Store team in providing quality service and convenience.
  • Ensure the department is displaying, stocking, and rotating merchandise as per company policy and standard with a focus on maintaining image and brand standards.
  • Ensure inventories are managed and protected in compliance with management standards and practices to maintain high levels of accuracy and minimal loss.
  • Provide superior leadership to team members through coaching, mentoring, performance management and feedback.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to Lake Country Co-op policies such as selling of age restricted items and all government regulations relating to tobacco and lottery.
  • Oversee the completion of daily reports, reconciliations, and purchases.
  • Champion the Asset Protection and Safety Management systems, policies, procedures.
  • Perform minor repairs to assets as required.
  • Perform all other duties as required.
