About The Position

The Assistant Team Leader supervises production teams when the Team Leader is absent, helping ensure safe, efficient production and delivery of quality Ziegenfelder treats. The role leads employees in a manner consistent with Ziegenfelder Values and supports the Safety, Quality, and Operations teams. When the Team Leader is present, the Assistant Team Leader works as an Operator. The position also assists with employee training and maintenance of production equipment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a management or leadership role.
• Ability to motivate and lead in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per day and perform bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping actions.
• Good spatial awareness when working around manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally, up to 30 lbs. frequently, and up to 10 lbs. constantly.
• Ability to climb, balance, stoop, crouch, reach, stand, push, and pull frequently during a shift.

Nice To Haves

• Management or leadership experience in a food manufacturing environment.
• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical or operational background.

Responsibilities

• Supervise production teams in the absence of the Team Leader to support safe, efficient production and delivery of quality products.
• Lead and motivate the team in a manner consistent with Ziegenfelder Values.
• Support Safety, Quality, and Operations teams in producing and packaging products.
• Ensure environmental and safety expectations are followed during the shift; address and communicate exceptions, needs, and opportunities through the Event Management application.
• Verify production paperwork, including raw material usage logs, metal detector calibrations, and product quality checks.
• Take appropriate corrective or preventative action when safety, quality, or defective-product events occur.
• Work as an Operator when the Team Leader is present.
• Complete the production dashboard when the Team Leader is absent.
• Follow GMP and SQF procedures and practices.
• Assist with training new personnel.
• Ensure product quality standards are met.
• Assist Maintenance in keeping machines in proper operational condition.
