Assistant Teacher
About The Position
Discovery Kidzone is seeking a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join their Bozeman team. This role is initially part-time with the potential to become full-time. The Assistant Teacher will collaborate with the teaching staff to foster a secure, stimulating, and positive atmosphere where children can learn, play, and develop. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about working with children and aiming to gain experience in early childhood education. Prior childcare experience is not necessary, as the company provides paid training and continuous support.
Requirements
- At least 16 years old
- Caring, patient, dependable, and positive
- Excited to work with young children
- Comfortable in a busy, active classroom environment
- Willing to learn and receive coaching
- Strong communicator and team player
- Reliable and able to maintain a consistent work schedule
- Willing to complete all required Montana childcare licensing and training requirements
- CPR and First Aid Certified or willing to obtain certification within 30 days of hire
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare experience is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work alongside Lead Teachers to support children in daily routines, learning activities, and play.
- Help create a welcoming, engaging, and safe classroom environment.
- Support daily classroom routines, transitions, meals, naps, diapering, and toileting.
- Engage children through stories, music, art, movement, sensory play, and hands-on activities.
- Assist with curriculum and small-group learning activities.
- Encourage positive social interactions and help children build independence.
- Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, meals, naps, and transitions.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and inviting classroom.
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers.
- Communicate and work closely with the teaching team and center leadership.
- Step in to support other classrooms when needed.
