Assistant Teacher
About The Position
We are seeking Part-time Closer/Floater Teachers to join our team at New Horizon Academy in West Des Moines, IA! The role requires the ability to work at least 2-3 hours each day until 6pm. The hourly wage range is $14.40-$15.75 DOE. Applicants must be available to work any shift between 6:30 am and 6:00 pm. New Horizon Academy participates in the WAGE$ program and offers Child Care Assistance with the State of Iowa, which can cover up to 100% of the cost of childcare for those with children attending our schools. The work is considered essential due to the critical importance of a child's first five years for social and emotional brain development.
Requirements
- Meets or exceeds state qualifications for the listed position.
- Must meet position qualification requirements as outlined by the state department guidelines.
- Can satisfy the Applicant Background Study required by state regulations.
- Can provide proof of identity and eligibility to legally work in the United States.
- Has the physical abilities to perform the required job duties with or without accommodations.
- Positive work ethic, and a team-centered attitude.
- Willing to learn and grow as an educator.
- Enjoy working with children!
Nice To Haves
- Previous childcare experience preferred, but not required.
- Previous experience in Early Childhood Education or related field of work.
Responsibilities
