Assistant Teacher- Infant
About The Position
The Assistant Teacher supports an infant classroom by helping maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment and supporting children’s social and emotional development. The role works with the lead teacher and the wider faculty, and helps establish positive and effective relationships with families. Teachers receive support from directors, including planning or resource time, and access to classroom resources. The school describes its early learning environment as safe, dynamic, and nurturing, with an emphasis on helping children grow into confident learners.
Requirements
- High school diploma required.
- Show empathy and compassion for young children.
- Be dependable and adaptable and enjoy working toward a common goal with others.
- Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with handling children, facilitating programs, ensuring child safety, and potential emergency situations.
- For Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib.
Nice To Haves
- Associate or Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with children is welcomed.
