About The Position

The Assistant Teacher helps provide a safe, positive, encouraging, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow through daily experiences and individualized instruction. The role supports children’s self-help and independence skills, contributes to creative curriculum development, and builds positive relationships with children, parents, and coworkers. Duties also include classroom and center upkeep and administrative tasks as needed. Attendance and reliability are essential. The schedule is flexible, with no weekends and work ending by 6:15 p.m. daily.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State-required courses and in-service hours, or the ability to obtain them.
• Must be at least 16 years old for part-time assistant positions; the posting states 18 years for full-time or lead teachers.
• Daily attendance and reliability are essential.
• Must love children and communicate effectively with parents and coworkers.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working in a licensed child care facility; one year is preferred but not required.
• Schedule flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Assist children with self-help and independence skills.
• Help ensure a positive, educational, and safe environment.

• Assist with toilet training when needed.
• Help clean and organize the classroom and center.
• Monitor children and reinforce safety and respect for others.
