About The Position

Kids N Us is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Teacher to help plan and implement an ongoing program of activities that promote the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of each child in the center’s care. No prior experience is needed; the employer is willing to train the right person.

This is a part-time, in-person position scheduled Monday through Friday. The listed pay is $17.13–$18.00 per hour. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma or GED. Required permits and certifications include a valid TB skin test, proof of MMR vaccination, proof of COVID-19 vaccination or an approved exemption, a valid food handlers permit, a valid first aid and CPR card, and Child Care Basics (30-hour course) Initial Certificate or equivalent completed within the past five years.

Responsibilities

• Create a safe and nurturing environment where children can learn and play.

• Supervise and manage daily class functions for a group of children.
• Cultivate positive relationships with children, families, teachers, and staff.
• Implement the school curriculum and assess students’ developmental needs.
• Help plan and implement activities that promote children’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
