About The Position

This role is for a recent or soon-to-be graduate looking to gain hands-on experience in the construction field. The Assistant Superintendent will be involved in the full lifecycle of a project, working alongside experienced professionals. The ideal candidate is a hard-working leader committed to safety and quality, preferring to manage the construction process from outside the trailer. ARCO Design/Build is a top design/build construction firm focused on developing the next generation of industry leaders.

Requirements

  • Recent or soon-to-be graduate of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered).
  • A strong interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
  • Possess and maintain a current, valid driver’s licenses in your state of residence.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required.
  • GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning.
  • Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
  • Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.
