Assistant Superintendent (New Grad 2027)
About The Position
This opportunity is for an Assistant Superintendent role at ARCO Design/Build, a top design/build construction firm. The role is designed for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, real-time problem-solving, and managing construction processes in the field. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, working alongside experienced professionals who are invested in your growth. You will attend preconstruction planning meetings, assist with construction scheduling, oversee daily field activities, and manage subcontractor coordination.
Requirements
- Recent or upcoming completion of an accredited Civil, Mechanical, Architectural, Construction Management, Building Science, or Construction Engineering undergraduate or graduate program (other related engineering majors will be considered).
- A strong interest in the construction process, specifically design/build, tilt-up concrete, industrial builds, etc.
- Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.
- Excellent verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong work ethic.
- Valid Driver's License.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in construction preferred, but not required.
- GPA 3.0 or higher preferred, but not required.
Responsibilities
- Attend post-award meetings to review project details and assist with construction planning.
- Work with the Project Manager to develop construction schedules, sequencing, staffing plans, and equipment needs.
- Oversee daily construction activities to ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to project specifications.
- Manage subcontractor activities, communicate schedule updates, and ensure work is properly coordinated across trades.
