About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Operations Manager (ABOM) works alongside the Bakery Operations Manager to build and develop a well-trained team, create positive guest experiences, and maintain effective bakery operations. The role involves coaching team members, taking ownership of staffing, inventory, quality, cleanliness, and execution, and independently leading the bakery when the Bakery Operations Manager is absent. It is an opportunity to learn the business and develop toward running an Insomnia Cookies bakery.

Requirements

At least 1 year of leadership experience in retail, restaurant, hospitality, or another customer-focused environment.
Experience coaching, motivating, and developing hourly team members.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Hands-on leadership style and willingness to perform any bakery role as needed.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple operational priorities.
Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and building great teams.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to obtain food safety certifications required for the location.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities

Partner with the Bakery Operations Manager to lead day-to-day bakery operations and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
Lead bakery operations independently when the Bakery Operations Manager is away.
Coach, motivate, and develop Shift Leaders and Cookie Crew members through feedback, recognition, and support.
Support recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training.
Help create schedules and manage labor.
Support ordering, inventory management, product rotation, and shrink control.
Maintain standards for product quality, food safety, cleanliness, speed of service, and bakery execution.
Complete operational and administrative tasks accurately and on time.
Identify opportunities to improve bakery performance and work with Bakery Operations and Area leadership to implement solutions.
Help establish a culture of clear expectations, support, and accountability.
Assist wherever needed, including serving guests, baking cookies, and supporting the team during busy periods.
