About The Position

Soma is an intimate apparel brand focused on comfort, confidence, and helping women feel empowered. The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. The role helps foster a welcoming environment for associates and customers and deliver memorable, personalized experiences that reflect the company’s culture of hospitality.

The Assistant Store Manager leads and develops associates, supports store financial goals, and provides an exemplary customer experience on the sales floor. The position also helps maintain brand presentation, safe and efficient store operations, inventory accuracy, and compliance with company policies and practices. It is a regular, full-time position at The Mall at University Town Center in Sarasota, Florida.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Team-player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for products; maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom; operate the register; and lift or carry up to 50 pounds.

• Three years of retail management experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team to deliver a customer-centered experience.
• Take ownership of store financial goals and motivate the team to achieve them.
• Assist with hiring, developing, and coaching associates.
• Lead by example on the sales floor, share product knowledge, and use an omni-channel approach.
• Maintain a visually inspiring store environment that reflects brand standards.
• Help ensure safe and efficient store operations, including inventory management, daily merchandise replenishment, and inventory execution.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.
