About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager partners with the Store Manager to support daily store operations, develop team members, provide exceptional customer service, and help drive store profitability. The role provides hands-on leadership experience while working with a wide variety of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, tools, and more. The Assistant Store Manager may serve as Manager on Duty when needed and is responsible for supporting store performance, maintaining operational standards, and helping achieve business objectives.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, team development, and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks.
• Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Comfortable working with a variety of merchandise; firearms may be present in FFL locations, with certification provided.
• Strong customer service skills and a team-oriented mindset.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Willingness to assist customers or retrieve merchandise from exterior areas.

Nice To Haves

• Previous leadership, key-holder, supervisory, or management experience.
• Experience using retail checkout systems.

Responsibilities

• Support daily store operations and serve as Manager on Duty when needed.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns.
• Coach, train, and develop team members to meet company standards.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, and retaining top talent.
• Help drive store sales, profitability, and performance goals.
• Maintain inventory accuracy and support asset protection initiatives.
• Open and close the store, including cash handling and operational procedures.
• Monitor loan and buying transactions to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Maintain attractive merchandising and store presentation standards.
• Analyze performance metrics and support the achievement of business objectives.
• Build product knowledge across a wide variety of merchandise categories.
• Assist customers or retrieve merchandise from exterior areas as needed.
