About The Position

The Assistant Store Manager assists the Store Manager with daily retail store operations and helps ensure maximum sales and profitability through merchandising execution, expense and inventory management, team training and development, human resources management, and outstanding customer service. The role supports store staffing and performance, company policy compliance, operational and safety standards, loss prevention, budgeting, and inventory accuracy. The work week does not exceed 40 hours, and a flexible schedule is required, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The position may involve working in multiple stores within the assigned district and travel by car, plane, or train.

Requirements

At least one year of retail management experience.
Solid knowledge of business and excellent English communication skills for interacting with management, associates, and customers.
Strong interpersonal skills, including poise, tact, and diplomacy when handling sensitive and confidential situations.
Ability to think strategically and plan and organize effectively.
Professionalism in all situations.
Proficient analytical ability to gather and summarize data, solve administrative problems, and prioritize work.
Results-driven critical and creative thinking, project management, time management, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and use independent judgment, compassion, and diplomacy.
Ability to plan, organize, multitask, set priorities, and respond proactively to changing demands from multiple sources.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Willingness to work in multiple stores in the assigned district.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
Ability to work extended hours during critical project phases and in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Reliable transportation.
Willingness to travel by car, plane, or train.

Responsibilities

Support the overall quality and performance of retail store staff.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
Model effective leadership to gain commitment to store goals and training standards.
Assist with recruiting, selecting, training, and developing store personnel.
Assist the Store Manager and provide feedback on annual performance evaluations for store employees.
Assist with expense management and develop strategies to help stores perform in accordance with budget.
Help monitor and identify loss or inventory inconsistencies so the store meets shrink goals at or below company plan.
Monitor and control operational compliance, safety, and business standards.
Support employee training in suggested selling and merchandising techniques.
Uphold customer service standards and provide customers with a friendly environment and outstanding service.
Assist with accurate and regular merchandise inventory counts.
Perform other duties as assigned.
